Customer:  In-house configuration research.

Program:  Originally conceived as a flying wing, the latest iteration of the Arrow takes advantage of its inherent configurational and propulsion integration flexibility.  The baseline aircraft, pictured at left, is designed with a F-14 type cockpit, suitable for two fully equipped instrument panels, Martin-Baker ejection seats and pressurization.

The configuration is suitable for  a variety of powerplant options.  By locating the engine just aft of the cockpit, issues of weight and balance are minimized when examining other propulsive configurations.  To date, the airplane has been analyzed for use with a conventional V-8, a Walter 601 turboprop, a PT6-66 (as on the Piaggio Avanti), and a JT15-D turbofan.

Seeing the potential of the two-place layout, we also examined the suitability of the configuration to a larger, cabin-class aircraft.  Although very preliminary at this point, initial indications show marked improvements in terms of visibility, speed, stability and cabin comfort.

Status:  Although there has been interest in this product line, to date no agreements have been formulated.
